Strategic Solution International's History

Strategic Solutions International was formed in 1990 as a privately held consulting practice by Connie Charles.  The primary focus of the business in the initial days was oncustomized design of training and development programs and processes for major corporations.  This yielded assignments that included sales training, executive coaching, meeting design and team development processes.  Over the next few years and since then, the SSI team has grown.  As a result of the variety of projects, a substantial portfolio of business applications were created along with a solid base of clients.

One of SSI's early marketing partners was John Jacobs Golf schools.  SSI created a series of programs and products for the golfer with the vision that the executive golfer was also the target for the business services that SSI provided.  As a result of this effort, SSI created an Executive Golf School marketing strategy that successfully drew key corporate decision makers to a one day program that introduced them to SSI's products, services and staff.  Most of SSI's clients today can be traced back to one of these events.

Through its use of the Birkman Method , SSI has become an expert at helping companies take snapshots of their people and teams that accurately portray the human assets and liabilities that contribute to their business success. The Birkman Method  is a management tool that was designed to profile the behaviors of people in the work place.  Its research, endowed by the National Science Foundation, has resulted in sophisticated reports that, with startling accuracy, describe the human characteristics that impact organizational success.  Strategic Solutions first licensed the technology in 1993 and has designed a portfolio of educational programs and consulting applications based on the information generated by the software.  The process is to guide the clients
through four distinct steps:

     1.   Self Awareness:  Who am I and what is my personal potential
     2.   Self Management:  How do I adapt my behaviors to a wide spectrum of changing
            circumstances
     3.   Manage Relationships: What do I need to do differently in order to be more
            effective with other people
     4.   Do Something:  Lead, Sell, Teach, Coach whatever your aspiration, when
based on a solid foundation of self-awareness, self-management and the ability
to manage relationships, success is around the corner.

Over its 15-year history, SSI has continued to deepen its relationships with its clients and broaden its network of associates.  Today, the global SSI team is sophisticated in its business acumen, passionate about helping people achieve their potential and positioned for continued growth.
